This unlicensed spoof of McDonald’s in the metaverse sells NFTs for virtual food. There are different stories about whether or not there will be a McDonald’s in the metaverse.

McRTFKT’s says on its website that it is “the metaverse’s first QSR virtual franchise,” but the name is actually pronounced “McArtifact’s.” Some of the non-food items (NFTs) that will be sold at the restaurant, which is based on McDonald’s fast food, include a “Double McMurakami” burger and a “10-piece Pigeon McNuggets” meal. OpenSea is an NFT marketplace where you can buy one of these tokens for just the cost of the gas needed.

In the past year, Chipotle and Wendy’s have shown that running a restaurant in virtual space is not a new idea. The main difference is that the real McDonald’s has nothing to do with McRTFKT’s. Nike’s NFT subsidiary RTFKT, whose initials make up the name of the company, has nothing to do with the NFT brand.

This may come as a surprise, since McRTFKT’s logo, which is a mix of the Golden Arches and RTFKT’s swoosh-like symbol, makes a lot of assumptions.
Tyler Cohen, who is the creative director of the virtual space, thought it was important to help businesses have a stronger presence in Web3 by giving them a model for how to do this in the virtual world.

Cohen told Ad Age, There are so few activations in this “metaverse” that are so horribly bad that it’s hard to believe. This is how McRTFKT plans to get into these well-known companies.
