Baseball card from Mark Zuckerberg’s Little League sold for $105,000
Market Watch says that on Wednesday night, a former camp counselor of Mark Zuckerberg’s sold a Little League baseball card with his face and signature for $105,000.
A few weeks before, in an Instagram post, Zuckerberg had given his approval to the sale, which was put on by ComicConnect:

ComicConnect sells things like comic books, baseball cards, and props from movies.
Also, ComicConnect auctioned off an NFT of Meta’s CEO when he was about 8 years old. It got eleven bids, and 11,000 Ethereum was paid for it. As of Thursday morning, 11 ETH was worth about $14,000 in US dollars.
The card got 57 bids in regular dollars, and the winning bid on Wednesday night was for $105,000. Market Watch says that the 15% buyer’s premium brings the total to $120,750.
Allie Tarantino, who used to work as a camp counselor, will get these funds.
Tarantino is now a teacher at a public school in New Rochelle, New York.
He is in charge of the activities at the same Elmwood Day Camp where Zuckerberg gave him the baseball card.
In August, ComicConnect’s first Instagram post about the auction went into detail about what happened before.
A photographer came up with the 1992 Little League card. It shows a young Zuckerberg in a red uniform and holding a baseball. On the other side are his “stats,” which include the fact that he weighs 48 pounds, is almost four feet tall, and plays for the team “Red Robbins.”
ComicConnect says that Zuckerberg later gave the card to Tarantino, who was his “favorite camp counselor.”
“Allie accepted the gift and playfully asked Mark to sign it, like a real baseball player. Mark enthusiastically agreed and now, 30 years later, the card has finally surfaced. In a world filled with high-value sports cards, this piece is truly one-of-a-kind,” the company wrote.
It’s not clear why Tarantino wants to sell the card now. (His LinkedIn profile didn’t answer a request for comment right away.)
As with Jennifer Gwynne, it’s possible that he got the idea from someone who sold Elon Musk’s graded homework for more than $7,000 in December.
She told Entrepreneur before that the incident made her look for and sell things from when she dated Elon Musk in college. She said he gave her an emerald necklace, some photos, and a birthday card. She got more than $165,000 for those things. Gwynne also said that she planned to use the money to pay for college for her stepson.
Now Tarantino has to deal with his own good luck. He told Marketwatch that he also planned to help his kids pay for college, pay off his mortgage, and maybe even buy himself a present. He also said that he likes to gather comics.
He told the outlet, “I thought I would treat myself.”
ComicConnect did not answer right away when asked for a comment.
