Web3 Company Chain has made a deal with Kraft Sports + Entertainment, the company that owns the New England Patriots, to become the official blockchain partner for the next four years. In 2022, people will know Web3 Company Chain best for its collaboration with Tiffany on the NFTiff drop.

Because of the four-year deal, Chain is the second big business to work with a National Football League team. Blockchain.com and the Dallas Cowboys made a deal in April of this year.

Chain has a partnership with four important Kraft Sports + Entertainment affiliates: the New England Patriots, the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, Gillete Stadium, and Patriot Place. A joint statement from Chain and Kraft Sports + Entertainment says that the company will focus on giving fans of the sports teams unique experiences.

Deepak Thapliyal, the CEO of Chain, says that the team is “excited” to offer cutting-edge Web3 experiences to the fans of the Kraft Sports + Entertainment teams. He went on to say that Chain is happy to see where Web3 is going for Gillete Stadium.

The new arrangement was brought out in Thursday’s actions by Thapliyal. He bought the ENS domain “patriots.eth” for 75 ETH, which is about $99,000. He may have done this to set it up for later use. ENS domains are written Ethereum addresses that can be used in place of Ethereum addresses that are hard to remember. During the cryptocurrency bear market, they have been one of the most-traded assets.

Murray Kohl, who is the president of sales for Kraft Sports + Entertainment, says that the company wants to be innovative with Web3 in the same way that it has been with other technologies in the past.

The NFL looks into Web3 in depth

Since NBA Top Shot came out in 2020, sports leagues have used Web3. They have started marketplaces, teamed up with companies, and put out NFTs collections because they see it as a new way to connect with fans. The NFL is the same. Here are three stories that have to do with Web3 and the NFL.

The NFL said two months ago that its NFT program for ticket stubs would be expanded for the upcoming season. The ticket stub program was used for all of Week 1’s games, and it will be used for some games throughout the season. Instead of real tickets, digital collectible “tickets” will be given out as souvenirs instead.

Four months ago, the NFL and Mythical Games said they would work together to make an NFT fantasy football game. People who play “NFL Rivals” will be able to win both real-world and “virtual” prizes. But it’s not clear if there will be cryptocurrency rewards.

Eight months ago, the NFL said that a new Web3 job called “Senior Manager, Content Partnerships” would be created. As part of the job, I had to do a number of Web3 tasks, such as looking for job openings in fast-growing tech fields like the metaverse and NFTs.
